Our Approach

Overland strives to prepare our students for success in the 21st century. Through hands-on experience in our Technology Lab students learn proper keyboarding, word processing, data management using spreadsheets, digital presentation skills, image editing, programming concepts, cloud computing, email and online ethics and safety along with Internet research. Our goal is to produce generations of students capable of maximizing the creative and academic potential of new technologies through a solid working knowledge of those technologies or a level of comfort great enough to allow them to intuitively teach themselves.

We use Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing for grades 2-5 in the computer lab. Dance Mat Typing is a great free website by the BBC where kindergarten and 1st grade students learn basic keyboarding.
