Music (Ms. Bailey)

This week, we will review the difference between steady beat and rhythm. Go to Music Play Online and choose “Beat or Rhythm” from the games on the right. Listen to the directions before you choose “Start”. Read the song title above the drummer. Is he/she playing the beat or the rhythm of the song? After you feel you have mastered this game, choose the game “Beat or No Beat.” Listen to the directions before you choose “Start.” Listen to the music. Does it have a steady beat, or is there no beat?

Grades 1-5

This week, we will review the rhythms that we were learning in music class.  Go to Music Play Online and choose “Which Rhythm Do You Hear?” from the games on the right. Choose any number 1-5 that contains rhythms that you recognize from music class. If you feel that you have mastered 1-5, click on a number that has a rhythm that you don’t recognize and see if you can figure it out.

Grade 3: Recorders

Practice your recorder on the Visual Musical Minds website.

Choose a song from level one to practice the notes you already know.  Remember: Left hand on top!  For those of you that want a challenge, move on to level two and learn new notes.  The fingering for the new notes is shown to the left of the music.  The music gets progressively harder at each level, so master one level before you move on to the next.
